The Racing Steps Foundation-backed driver won the opening round at Oulton Park and has added six more podiums since. He's currently third in the championship, 12 points behind joint leaders Jaime Alguersuari and Sergio Perez, but is eager to add to his win tally after making such a strong start to the weekend.
Turvey topped the morning practice session by more than quarter of a second and was quickest again in the afternoon, although his Carlin Motorsport teammate Brendon Hartley cut the gap to just over a tenth.
"It's been a good start to the weekend and everything's working well," said Turvey. "I really like this circuit and I'll be looking to carry it on into qualifying to help set me up for a win or two.
"Of course the consistent podiums are important, but you always want to win. I really want to win here."
Carlin locked out three of the top four places in each session, while John Martin built upon his recent strong showings and was the only driver to get among the Carlin cars for Double R.
Sam Abay was fourth quickest on combined times, with Marcus Ericsson fifth ahead of championship leaders Perez and Alguersuari.
Daniel Campos-Hull was an impressive eighth on a guest appearance with his F3 Euro Series team, HBR Motorsport, while Jay Bridger again led the National Class, 16th overall.
