Devaney hoping for better luck

Devaney hoping for better luck

Michael Devaney is eager to turn around his fortunes in British Formula 3 this season and hopes a change of car number will bring about better luck.

The Irishman carried the number 13 on his Ultimate Motorsport Mygale for the first two rounds of the season, but changed to No.16 after the round at Croft last month where he lost a maiden podium finish when his engine cut out on the last lap.

"I'm not superstitious in the slightest," he told autosport.com. "I changed it more to shut people up because everyone else was banging on about 13 bringing me bad luck.

"But we came here with No.16 on the car and the gearbox broke at the start of second practice yesterday, so it obviously hasn't made that much difference.

"We just need to work on the reliability of the car and get a good run together."
