The British team have competed in the Spanish F3 championship for the past two years and will expand into British F3 after entering into a partnership with Mygale, and another for Mugen-Honda engines from supplier Neil Brown.
West-Tec team owner Gavin Wills said: "I think the Mygale chassis showed real potential last year and I'm excited to be able to work so closely with a chassis manufacturer.
"The Mugen-Honda engines that Neil Brown will supply us are, I believe, as least as strong as anything out there and we have a great relationship with them too, built up over a number of years."
Mygale scored its first F3 victories last season with Ultimate Motorsport and boss Bertrand Decoster is pleased to be fielding a second team alongside JTR, following Ultimate's switch to Dallaras.
"I have known Gavin for many years and I know that Team West-Tec will do a good job with the Mygale chassis," said Decoster. "Our 2009 update will bring significant performance gains and we look forward to good results together."
The West-Tec entry is also the only confirmed Mugen-Honda-powered team in the championship class so far for 2009, following multiple race-winning team T-Sport's switch to Volkswagen.
The team hope to announce their first driver later this month.
